East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust Selects ecoDriver for Energy Efficiency Project at William Harvey Hospital

April 2025

ecoDriver is delighted to announce a new partnership with East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust (EKHUFT) to implement advanced smart metering technology and energy management solutions at William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

Following a successful bid for funding from NHS England in early 2025, EKHUFT has appointed ecoDriver, through the SBS framework and in conjunction with framework partner Bramble Hub, to deliver this critical project.

ecoDriver will install new meters and pulse transmitters across the William Harvey site to capture granular energy consumption data, in addition to integrating with existing metering infrastructure where possible. A network of low-power wide-area networking protocol (LoRaWAN) cellular gateways will provide near real-time, half-hourly meter readings transmitting data to ecoDriver’s cloud-based software for analysis and reporting.

This pilot project aims to drive significant energy savings, maximise return on investment, and support EKHUFT’s sustainability goals by identifying and eliminating energy waste.

To further enhance energy efficiency, EKHUFT has also chosen ecoDriver’s CEEP and ELP services:

  • CEEP (Collaborative Energy Efficiency Programme): ecoDriver’s Low Carbon Consultants will provide ongoing expert analysis of energy data, delivering monthly reports and recommendations to eliminate energy waste.
  • ELP (Energy Literacy Programme): This 12-month programme will empower EKHUFT staff with the knowledge and understanding to actively participate in energy-saving initiatives through educational materials and interactive seminars.

“We are thrilled to partner with East Kent Hospitals on this important project,” said Matthew Boyham, Sales Manager at ecoDriver. “Our technology and expertise will provide EKHUFT with the tools and insights they need to optimise energy consumption, reduce their environmental impact, and contribute to the NHS’s net zero ambitions.”

ecoDriver is committed to a long and successful partnership with EKHUFT, delivering impactful energy efficiency solutions.
